Cobb Blisters Elkford Wednesday, May 31st, 2017 It was high-5 day at Seattle Grounds, at least for Fred Cobb of the Seattle Terns. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Elkford Roadrunners. Cobb smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 6-5 win. His manager said, "Fred was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." Fred Cobb singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 11th. This season Cobb has banged out 27 hits in 98 at-bats for a .276 average with no home runs. He is getting on base at a .308 pace and his totals also include 5 RBIs and 10 runs scored. |
