5-5 Day for Gonzáles Friday, August 18th, 2017 Bakersfield left fielder Jorge Gonzáles put on quite a show at Jerome Grounds with a big 5-hit day. But all for naught. The Nobles were beaten 12-3 by the Thomasville Lookouts. In the postgame interview he said, "The team didn't do too well today, but it was a good one for me, at least at the plate. Wish I could do this more often. It would do wonders for my batting average ... and my salary, too. But I could do without the losing." Jorge Gonzáles singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Currently Gonzáles has 31 home runs and a .351 batting average. |
