California's Chris Smith Suffers Setback Monday, October 2nd, 2017
Oceanliners first baseman Chris Smith has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation for a strained abdominal muscle. He was expected to finish treatment soon and rejoin the team slightly ahead of schedule, but now doctors will reevaluated him after he felt severe pain in a recent workout. The preliminary examination revealed more damage and is worse than the first injury. Anonymous sources in California told BNN Chris Smith would be absent from the roster quite a bit longer than originally diagnosed. He would now have to miss at least 4 days.
Smith is presently hitting at a .282 pace with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs. He has played in 89 games and scored 49 times.
