5 Hits for Middies Peña Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but José Peña got one today. He scattered hits all over Field of the Middies to pace Grafton to a 11-1 victory over Real Hartford CB. The Real Hartford CB skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Peña hit several that he is not supposed to hit." José Peña singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Batting .329 to date, Peña has 2 home runs and 27 RBIs. |
