Red-Hot Dixon Scorches Oceanliners
Monday, September 4th, 2017
Cliff Dixon was unstoppable, but his club, the Nuggets, was not unbeatable. Despite his hitting heroics they lost to the California Oceanliners 17-7. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His only consolation will be a boost in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book. Dixon just shook his head after the game, saying to the BNN reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that wins... not the most hits." Cliff Dixon singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Pete Nicholls in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
This season Dixon has banged out 42 hits in 165 at-bats for a .255 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .337 pace and his totals also include 23 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
