Saturday, August 2nd, 2014
Long hitting streaks don't happen very often and when they happen it perks up everybody's interest. No one knows how long it will go -- it could end tomorrow -- but baseball fans and Rômulo Caho are enjoying the moment right now. The 36-year-old Buckhead third baseman extended his string to 20 consecutive games in Saber Cats Ballpark today. Caho got 2 hits, but the Atlanta Smoke got the victory. They toppled the Bowties 3-2. Rômulo Caho flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off José Hernández in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dana Hennessey in the 7th and struck out in the 10th.
In 95 games this season Caho has batted at a .321 pace with 124 hits and 24 home runs.
