Valentine Rips 3 HR
Friday, August 1st, 2014
It was a good day for Boston and an exceptional day for George Valentine. The 35-year-old left fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Patriots beat the Detroit Reapers 6-5 at Reapers Ballpark.
Following the game, he was asked about his performance. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Valentine commented, "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."
For the day he scored 3 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats.
George Valentine hit a solo-shot off Armando Hernández in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Francisco Carrasco in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jeff Lyons in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season Valentine is hitting .323 with 107 hits, 30 home runs, 86 RBIs, scored 77 runs and played in 94 games.
