2030 Top Player Honored By SL1
Monday, October 21st, 2030
At the age of 20, Rob Johnson of the Quincy Doughboys could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2030 was good enough to win the first baseman the Sub League 1 Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .399 batting average this year, as well as a .477 on-base percentage. He played 53 games and racked up 67 hits, 12 doubles, no triples, 12 home runs, 34 RBIs and 36 runs scored.
Mike Morrow of the Yellowknife Claws finished second in voting, while Brian Lawson of the Pittsburgh Killa Beez finished third.
