Season Possibly Over for Mario Lugo
Saturday, September 21st, 2030
The doctors have spoken and Mario Lugo of the Elkins Sting Rays didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Lugo sustained his season-ending injury during the Santa Clarita Music game yesterday at Ballpark of Elkins. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Elkins medical staff reported Lugo had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11 months.

Over the season, Lugo has made 20 relief appearances with 2 saves. He has K'd 8 batters in 7 innings, yielded 4 walks and has a 3.86 ERA. Lugo's record this year is 0-0.
