Season Possibly Over for Marty Gómez Thursday, September 19th, 2030 The doctors have spoken and Marty Gómez of the Logan Swans didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old left fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Gómez sustained his season-ending injury during the Coronado Eclipse game yesterday at Swans Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while being hit by a pitch. Today the Logan medical staff reported Gómez had a broken bone in the elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months. Thus far this season Gómez is hitting .273 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 44 at-bats and has played in 13 games. |
