Tremblay Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 22 Thursday, August 8th, 2030 Late in the game, all eyes in Headhunters Ballpark were on Bill Tremblay as he stepped into the batter box. His 22-game hitting streak was on the line, and he had a zero in the hit column on the day. Sadly for Tremblay, it was not meant to be -- the zero would stay and the streak would end. If there was a silver lining for Tremblay today, it was that his Washington DC Hot Sauce won the game anyway, stopping the Watertown Headhunters by the score of 5-4. "Winning took some of the disappointment out of it," Tremblay told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 22 straight games. It's something I will always remember." In 26 games this year Tremblay has posted a .284 average and put up these numbers: no home runs, 4 RBIs and 16 runs scored. |
