Hits Blitz for Mountain Pointe HS Scovell Saturday, May 18th, 2030 In an outing that will go down in the annals of baseball history, Mountain Pointe HS first baseman Vince Scovell hit for the cycle today as the Mountain Pointe HS marched to victory over the Temiskaming District Secondary School Saints, 11-2. Scovell collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats, including 1 single, 2 doubles, 1 triple and 1 home run. He added 3 RBI and 5 runs scored to help Mountain Pointe HS take the Ballpark of Bethlehem HS contest. "It was the last thing on my mind, really," Scovell said. "I'm out there trying to get a blooper or a walk or whatever might help the team. Even if I had wanted to, hitting for the cycle is probably as much about luck as about skill anyway." Vince Scovell hit a solo-shot off Zander Miner in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and tripled in the 8th.
