Bulldogs Chill Martínez's Hot Streak Monday, May 13th, 2030 It was a doubly miserable day today for Valentín Martínez of the Bishop Gorman HS Balbasaurs, as he saw his 37-game hitting streak end and his team lose 5-3 to the Otsego HS Bulldogs at Metropolitans Stadium. The 16-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Bulldogs. "Anyone on a 37-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Otsego HS manager Jim Wilkerson said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." This season Martínez is hitting .425 with 68 hits, 10 home runs, 48 RBIs, scored 45 runs and played in 39 games. |
