Maize HS End Webb's Streak Tuesday, May 7th, 2030 It was the best of both worlds for the Maize HS today at Ballpark of Novato HS, as they defeated the H.H. Dow HS Chargers 8-2 and also snapped Daniel Webb's 29-game hitting streak. The 16-year-old H.H. Dow HS center fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Webb, we just wanted to win the game," said Maize HS skipper Steve Phillips. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Webb frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Webb is hitting .356 so far this season with 30 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has 53 hits including 11 home runs, 25 walks and .444 OBP. |
