Knights End Cabrera's Streak
Monday, May 6th, 2030
It was the best of both worlds for the Evans HS Knights today at Ballpark of Bethlehem HS, as they defeated the Temiskaming District Secondary School Saints 6-4 and also snapped Ramón Cabrera's 21-game hitting streak. The 18-year-old Temiskaming District Secondary School first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Cabrera, we just wanted to win the game," said Knights skipper Manuel Calderón. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Cabrera frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Cabrera is hitting .385 this year with 9 home runs and 38 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .521, 34 walks and scored 40 times.
