Pirates End Gil's Streak
Saturday, May 4th, 2030
Mario Gil of the Spanish Fork HS came up empty at the plate today and went hitless in 4 at-bats for the first time in 21 games. Making matters even worse for the second baseman, Spanish Fork HS dropped the game to the Oceanside HS Pirates 12-8.

"It was not a good day today," Gil told the press in postgame comments. "We lost the game and the streak is over."

A look at his current stats shows Gil with a .355 average, 1 home run, 27 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has played in 32 games.
