Gil Keeps Hit Streak Alive Thursday, May 2nd, 2030 The Spanish Fork HS stopped the Maris School Mariners today 10-7 and Mario Gil collected a base hit yet again. The Spanish Fork HS second baseman finished with 2 hits to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Gil told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Mario Gil struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. So far this year, Gil is batting .368 with 1 home run and 24 RBIs. |
