Smith Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Monday, April 29th, 2030 Jonathan Smith's hitting streak is becoming the talk of Jackson HS. The 17-year-old first baseman extended it once again today, this time bringing it to 20 games with a 1-for-3 performance against the Butler HS Golden Tornado. The Swamp Bats took the game, 17-4. "People are starting to bring it up to me when I'm around town," he said. "It's getting stressful." Jonathan Smith hit an RBI single in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, walked in the 8th and walked in a run in the 8th. This season Smith is swinging the bat at a .410 rate with 48 hits in 117 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 20 runs and driven in 26. |
