Patriots End Rodríguez's Streak Tuesday, April 23rd, 2030 It was the best of both worlds for the John Jay HS Patriots today at Ghosts Ballpark, as they defeated the Bishop Verot HS 11-5 and also snapped Mario Rodríguez's 20-game hitting streak. The 17-year-old Bishop Verot HS first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Rodríguez, we just wanted to win the game," said Patriots skipper Wes Massey. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Rodríguez frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Rodríguez is hitting .352 in 2030 with 24 RBIs and 3 home runs. |
