Rice Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Monday, May 28th, 2029
It was a sensational day at the plate for Bill Rice as he led the charge to a 16-7 win over the Mountaineers. The Florida State right fielder was pure misery for the West Virginia pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 7 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Rice put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Jaime Vargas, manager for the Mountaineers, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Bill Rice flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season in 50 games Rice is batting .292 with 3 home runs, 18 RBIs and has scored 30 times.
