Jones Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 20 Sunday, May 20th, 2029 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Brian Jones as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 4 at-bats at the hands of the Louisiana State Tigers. It wasn't all bad for the 19-year-old center fielder and the South Florida Bulls however, as they defeated Louisiana State 8-6 at Alex Box Stadium. When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Jones laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today." Currently Jones is hitting .372 and has collected 18 home runs, 45 RBIs and scored 49 times, while playing in 46 games. |
