Riley Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Sunday, May 13th, 2029 Nobody has been able to shut down Seton Hall Pirates left fielder Vernon Riley in recent days. The Oregon State Beavers fared no better than the rest. Today at Owen T. Carroll Field, Riley picked up 1 hit in 4 at-bats en route to a 8-1 Pirates victory. It stretched his hitting string to 20 consecutive games. Vernon Riley flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Carroll O'Donovan in the 7th. For the season, Riley is hitting at a .371 clip with 18 home runs, 51 RBIs and has scored 37 runs. He has 63 hits, 22 walks and a .448 on-base percentage. |
