Spartans Sandoval to Miss Year
Sunday, May 19th, 2030
The season is finished for Martín Sandoval of the Michigan State Spartans. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Spartans reliever suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Northwestern Wildcats. Team doctors said it would take at least 9 months to heal.

So far this season, in 12 relief appearances Sandoval has compiled an ERA of 7.90. He has pitched 27.1 innings, struck out 36, walked 28 and registered no saves.
