Gómez Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Friday, May 17th, 2030 With 1 hit at Olsen Field today, Carlos Gómez added another game to his hitting streak -- the Creighton first baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Blue Jays today, as they fell, 7-3, to the Texas A&M Aggies. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Texas A&M manager Mason Aspinall said later. "I'll let him get 5 hits in 5 at-bats if it means we get a win." Carlos Gómez struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and struck out in the 9th. So far this year in 43 games Gómez is hitting .256 with 7 home runs, 29 RBIs and 44 runs scored. |
