Cornhuskers End Jones's Streak Wednesday, May 15th, 2030 It was a doubly miserable day today for Brian Jones of the South Florida Bulls, as he saw his 28-game hitting streak end and his team lose 13-6 to the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Haymarket Park. The 20-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 5 at-bats by the Cornhuskers. "Anyone on a 28-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Nebraska manager Francisco Rivera said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." So far this year in 41 games Jones is hitting .409 with 18 home runs, 49 RBIs and 50 runs scored. |
