Williams Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle
Saturday, May 11th, 2030
Saint John's's Peter Williams accomplished what few others have done -- he hit for the cycle, collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game.
For the day, Williams finished 4-for-5 with 5 runs batted in and 4 runs scored and helped the Red Storm knock off the Northwestern Wildcats 15-6 at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
"I didn't even know I was about to hit for the cycle until after," Williams told reporters following the game. "One of the guys mentioned it when I got back to the dugout."
Peter Williams doubled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Paul Pearson in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and hit an RBI triple in the 7th.
This year Williams has collected a .422 batting average to date with 54 hits in 128 at-bats, 22 RBIs, 3 home runs and scored 24 times. He has played in 38 games.
