Ford Rips Maryland for 5 Hits Wednesday, May 8th, 2030 Bulldogs left fielder Gerard Ford had his way with Maryland pitching today at Shipley Field and mauled them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Terrapins ruined his great day by toppling the Bulldogs, 10-8. "I had a great day, but you've got to give Maryland credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits." "Oh, we noticed what Ford did today," Terrapins skipper Victor Dillon said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him." Gerard Ford hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
