Red-Hot Hickman Scorches Cornhuskers
Saturday, May 4th, 2030
It was a good day at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The Texas Longhorns whipped the Nebraska Cornhuskers 12-3 and second baseman Dave Hickman showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-6 at the plate.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," Hickman told BNN reporters after the game.
Longhorns manager Chris Davis told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 22-year-old "focused and patient."
"It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Dave hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
Dave Hickman grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Henry Lockyer in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
So far this year Hickman has 2 home runs and a .285 batting average.
