Spartans End López's Streak
Wednesday, April 24th, 2030
It was the best of both worlds for the Michigan State Spartans today at John H Kobs Field, as they defeated the Michigan Wolverines 5-1 and also snapped Roberto López's 22-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old Michigan center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against López, we just wanted to win the game," said Spartans skipper Hank Dare. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, López frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

López is hitting .369 so far this season with 26 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 38 hits including 7 home runs, 14 walks and .449 OBP.
