Hokies End Callahan's Streak
Monday, April 22nd, 2030
It was the best of both worlds for the Virginia Tech Hokies today at English Field, as they defeated the Texas A&M Aggies 14-7 and also snapped Jesse Callahan's 20-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old Texas A&M shortstop failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Callahan, we just wanted to win the game," said Hokies skipper Kyle Baird. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Callahan frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Callahan is hitting .494 this year with 10 home runs and 34 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .554, 14 walks and scored 27 times.
