Vázquez Slaps 5 Hits
Friday, April 19th, 2030
It was a sensational day at the plate for Auburn Tigers left fielder Armando Vázquez, but a tough one for the team, as the Tigers dropped the contest 11-10 to the South Florida Bulls.
Even with the loss, Vázquez was pure misery for the South Florida pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-6 in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Vázquez, who is the 19-year old left fielder .
"Vázquez really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Bulls manager José Yánez told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Armando Vázquez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Nate Dougherty in the 6th, walked in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
This season Vázquez is swinging the bat at a .449 rate with 31 hits in 69 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 15 runs and driven in 14.
