Ayala Selected APL (24 & Under)'s Best Player
Wednesday, October 16th, 2030
At the age of 23, Tony Ayala of the Scottsdale Scorpions could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2030 was good enough to win the right fielder the Appalachian League Outstanding Hitter Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .300 batting average this year, as well as a .390 on-base percentage. He played 137 games and racked up 155 hits, 23 doubles, 3 triples, 45 home runs, 124 RBIs and 108 runs scored.

Steve Smith of the Beaverton Bronze Souls finished second in voting, while Armando Arellano of the Kenosha Kingfish finished third.
