Season Possibly Over for Félix Ortega Wednesday, September 18th, 2030 The doctors have spoken and Félix Ortega of the Detroit Dirty Snow didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Ortega sustained his season-ending injury during the El Paso Texans game yesterday at Augusta-Richmond County Grounds. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Detroit medical staff reported Ortega had shoulder inflammation and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months. Checking out his stats for the season, Ortega has notched 3 wins and 3 losses in 9 starts, 7.63 ERA and struck out 31 batters in 46 innings. |
