Emílio Fernández Sidelined for Season Thursday, September 5th, 2030 The doctors have spoken and Emílio Fernández of the State College Spikes didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Fernández sustained his season-ending injury during the El Paso Texans game yesterday at Dirty South Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the State College medical staff reported Fernández had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months. In 0 starts this season Fernández has registered a 2-5 record and a 6.29 ERA. |
