Franco Hits for Cycle Against Scottsdale
Sunday, September 1st, 2030
At Dean Dome today, Felipe Franco led Savannah to a 11-2 victory over the Scottsdale Scorpions by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats.
"Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Franco said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases."
In addition to going 4-for-4, Franco chalked up 3 RBI and scored 3 runs in an exceptional performance.
Felipe Franco doubled in the 1st, tripled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off José Amaya in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
So far this season Franco has gotten 62 hits in 284 at-bats for a .218 batting average with 13 home runs. His stats include 38 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has played in 100 games.
