Hernández Gets 5 Hits Saturday, August 3rd, 2030 Armando Hernández was at the head of a Nantucket Orcas hit parade today at Gentry Field. The 20-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Beaverton Bronze Souls that marched off with the 8-6 win. "We didn't have it today," griped Orcas skipper Bill Dennis following the game. "Armando did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching." Hernández did more than fine, dominating the Bronze Souls at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance. "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging shortstop told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." Armando Hernández singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
