Tuesday, October 15th, 2030
2030 was a year to remember for Duane Deal, and his outstanding efforts have garnered him the nod as the Eastern League Outstanding Hitter Award winner.
While it's not common for a pitcher to win this award, Deal couldn't be denied, with a strong season in which he posted a 18-5 mark in 32 starts.
The Intercourse Amish ace pitcher threw 194.2 innings, had 222 strikeouts and had 40 walks, accounting for a 3.51 ERA.
Deal held opposing hitters to a .238 batting average and compiled a 5.8 WAR.
Claudio Rodríguez of the Rio Grande Rattlesnake finished second in voting, while Henry Dawson of the Wilmington Rebels finished third.
