Allen 5-for-5 for Butler Friday, September 13th, 2030 The Newark Bulldogs might think twice next time about pitching to Denny Allen. At Pullman Park today, the Butler White Sox right fielder burned Newark pitching, going 5-for-5 in a 11-3 Butler triumph. "When he's on his game," Butler skipper Phil Ingilby told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded." Denny Allen hit a solo-shot off Andrew Gil in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Gerald Dunham in the 8th. This season Allen has banged out 142 hits in 443 at-bats for a .321 average with 9 home runs. He is getting on base at a .369 pace and his totals also include 67 RBIs and 64 runs scored.
