Newark Loses López for Year Saturday, September 7th, 2030 Vicente López of the Bulldogs just might have to call it quits for the season. The 24-year-old Newark starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Penquannock Overrated Jeter recently at Halesite Grounds. López suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Bulldogs medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 6 months. This year López has made 2 starts, thrown 127 innings, fanned 124 batters and walked 92. His won-lost record is 7-5 with a 6.38 ERA. |
