Garza Gets 5 Hits
Saturday, August 3rd, 2030
Even as a kid, José Garza said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Le Parc today, Garza showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 25-year-old center fielder had 5 hits in 7 at-bats for the Rio Grande Rattlesnake, helping his team knock off the Butler White Sox by a score of 24-4.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
José Garza singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Garza's current batting average stands at .328 and he has chalked up 8 home runs and 41 RBIs.
