Zapata Dominates Beaumont Sunday, June 16th, 2030 The West Virginia Power did little to support starter António Zapata against the Beaumont Roughnecks, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Roughnecks, striking out 11 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Zapata allowed West Virginia to escape with the 3-0 win despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said 'António, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Zapata told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it." This season Zapata has nailed down 1 save with 49 strikeouts in 48.1 innings.
