Hit Streak Now at 20 for García Saturday, July 6th, 2030 Armando García, second baseman for the Salem Silver Souls, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 7-4 victory today over the Beaumont Roughnecks at Palancar Gardens today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Armando García flied out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. In 31 games García is hitting .336 this season with 38 hits, 1 home run, 14 RBIs, 11 walks, .397 OBP and has scored 22 runs. |
