Hernando Nabs NWL (28 & Under) #1 Pitcher Award Tuesday, October 1st, 2030 Over the past month José Hernando has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Northwest League. He proved all that and now he's been named September's Pitcher of the Month. The rookie for the San Diego Smashers posted 3-0 mark and a 1.65 ERA. In 4 starts he tossed 27.1 innings, permitted 23 hits and fanned 26 batters. In 25 starts this season, Hernando has picked up 9 wins while suffering 8 losses. He has pitched 161.1 innings, allowed 164 hits, struck out 149 and posted a 4.91 ERA. |
