Streak Finally Over, Soto Held Hitless
Thursday, August 22nd, 2030
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 24-game hitting streak, Bismark right fielder Enrique Soto went hitless in 4 at-bats today at The Rodeo Grounds.

The sudden hitting drought came as the Border Guards took the 3-1 win over the Balzac Rams.

"Nope, it's not magic," Soto said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."

Thus far this year Soto is hitting .478 with 6 home runs, 21 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
