Broncos End Hooper's Streak
Tuesday, August 27th, 2030
It was the best of both worlds for the Mile High Broncos today at Mile High Field, as they defeated the Calgary Cowboys 9-6 and also snapped Don Hooper's 21-game hitting streak. The 29-year-old Calgary third baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Hooper, we just wanted to win the game," said Broncos skipper Patrick Patterson. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Hooper frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Hooper is hitting .307 this year with 5 home runs and 27 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .351, 10 walks and scored 27 times.
