Missions End Colón's Streak
Monday, August 26th, 2030
It was the best of both worlds for the San Jose Missions today at The Quarantine, as they defeated the District 9 Prawns 13-2 and also snapped José Colón's 20-game hitting streak. The 30-year-old District 9 first baseman failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Colón, we just wanted to win the game," said Missions skipper Gary Stinson. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Colón frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Colón is hitting .321 this year with 5 home runs and 74 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .385, 60 walks and scored 79 times.
