5-Hit Game for Davis
Wednesday, July 31st, 2030
District 9 Prawns first baseman Mike Davis had a day to remember at Redwood Park today, ripping apart the Redwood City Redwoods and sparking the Prawns to a 16-1 victory.
Davis wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Davis told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Mike Davis doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Gil Paling in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Gil Paling in the 8th.
Currently Davis is batting .307 with 24 home runs, 63 RBIs and 75 runs scored.
