Ortega Selected ITL's Best Player
Sunday, October 20th, 2030
At the age of 22, Manuel Ortega of the Tuscaloosa Trout Slayers could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2030 was good enough to win the center fielder the International League Outstanding Hitter Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .340 batting average this year, as well as a .483 on-base percentage. He played 146 games and racked up 192 hits, 26 doubles, 5 triples, 29 home runs, 113 RBIs and 173 runs scored.

Milo Powers of the Memphis Redbirds finished second in voting, while Eduardo Gómez of the Louisville Bats finished third.
