Vareas Has 31-Game Hitting Streak Wednesday, September 18th, 2030 Juan Vareas ran his hitting streak to 31 straight games today at Utica Field, when he collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Waba Ducks dropped the game, 2-0, to the Utica Unicorns. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Vareas said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Juan Vareas grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th and struck out in the 7th. This year Vareas has hit at a .362 pace and produced 75 RBIs, 8 home runs and scored 63 runs. |
