Vareas Ups Hit Streak to 30 Consecutive Games Tuesday, September 17th, 2030 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Juan Vareas did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Utica Field today. For the last 30 games in a row, the 30-year-old right fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Waba Ducks beat the Utica Unicorns 3-1 today. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Vareas told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Waba clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Juan Vareas flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. So far this season Vareas has gotten 154 hits in 425 at-bats for a .362 batting average with 8 home runs. His stats include 75 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has played in 118 games. |
